On Our Arrival for Tea
My daughter and I arrived at 3pm and were instantly greeted by the lovely Ashleigh who soon made my excited daughter feel at home. The tables were beautifully decorated without being too ‘busy’ and my daughter was very impressed with the all the things to do. As we waited for our tea, she coloured in a lovely Easter picture that also doubled up as her table mat! There was also a handwritten Easter card from all the staff at Heighley Gate, a large egg-shaped biscuit to decorate and a large bag of mini chocolate eggs too! I had a pot of tea when I arrived and my daughter was given the choice of diluted juice.
What We Had for Tea!
My daughter really enjoyed her hot meal of sausage, mash and peas! She thought the sausages tasted delicious and thoroughly enjoyed the meal, without being distracted by the biscuit or the chocolate eggs! I really enjoyed my cold Tea which consisted of a plate of finger sandwiches, cream tea scones and a plate of mini fancy cakes as well. It was all presented on a 3 tiered stand which made it feel extra special for me as well. The staff were really attentive and we felt well looked after during our meal.
Biscuit Decorating and Easter Bunny Hunt!
After tea, it was time to decorate our biscuit with the icing and small sweets provided. This was great fun and we carefully placed our biscuit in the paper bag provided before we joined the other families for the Easter Bunny Hunt. Ashleigh explained that the Easter Bunny was hiding somewhere in the garden centre and could we help her find him! We left our biscuits on the table and set off with Ashleigh as she read out clues to where the Easter Bunny had been spotted. As the kids worked out the clues there were squeals of laughter and delight as they found the egg posters placed around the garden centre. Finally, we spotted the Easter Bunny hiding behind some plants and the children were thrilled to get some mini eggs as a thank you for finding him!
Goodbye Easter Bunny & Hello Rosie Aurora Rabbit!
We walked back to the tea tables with the Easter Bunny, who then posed for photographs with all the children. Finally, each child was able to take a cuddly toy home. My daughter chose a white bunny rabbit who she named Rosie Aurora! (The tag on the cuddly toy had Aurora printed on it!) Then it was time for the Easter bunny to say goodbye. We gathered our biscuits, cards and activity mat and said goodbye to Ashleigh and the other families there.
Would We Go Again to a Wyevale Event Like This?
Yes! I think that the whole afternoon was good value for money and it was a lovely afternoon out too! The afternoon tea option cost £9.99 per child which included a hot meal, quality cuddly toy, biscuit, mini chocolate eggs and activity sheet. The cold tea for the adults cost £7.99 and was not only delicious but beautifully presented too.
