Yum Yuck Busy Bag
A Yum Yuck Busy Bag is a great idea to keep kids occupied, especially when you are on a road trip or waiting for an appointment. We have already shared our Busy Bag Full of Buttons and now we would like to share another idea with you.
A Busy Bag contains an activity or puzzle designed for carrying and should take up very little room, ideal for slipping into a purse or jacket pocket. Sometimes when we are travelling or we are on holiday, I want Peakles to have something else to occupy her time. Our recent discovery of Busy Bags could be the solution to this.
Materials You Will Need
- a sturdy bag such as a pencil case
- selection of small toys
- cut out pictures of food items
- food words
Place the items inside the bag or pencil case and give to your child when needed.
How to Use a Yum Yuck Busy Bag
The idea behind this busy bag is simple and fun. It is all about kids exploring different food ideas and deciding if it is a yum, a yuck or a yum yuck! How about chocolate and a toy car! Car shaped chocolate would be a yum but cars made out of chocolate could be a yum yuck – you would not like to drive in a car made out of chocolate! Peakles picked a marble out of the bag and a picture of some pasta. She thought marble pasta would be a yuck but pasta shaped like marbles could be a yum.
Soon you will be putting together all sorts of different food and object combinations and trying to decide if they are a yum, a yuck or a yum yuck!
