Goodlife Mushroom and Spinach Kievs
These Mushroom and Spinach Kievs from Goodlife gave me some great ideas for lunchtime meals this spring and summer. Although we are not a vegetarian family, there are many times when we do not eat meat. I was delighted to be asked to review these new products from Goodlife. In fact, we loved them so much that we made 3 different meals with them!

Inside the Box
There are two kievs per box and are marked as suitable for vegetarians. The box is bright and looks fun, very attractive to children and young adults, there are clear cooking instructions and a full list of ingredients including the main allergens in bold. A single kiev is more than enough if paired with other ingredients, however, be prepared to make more as they are very tasty!
Healthy Lunchtime Idea
The kievs take 20 minutes to cook in a preheated oven (see packaging for full cooking instructions) which is more than enough time to prepare a tasty side dish of stir-fry vegetables and cauliflower rice.V
I made this meal for my eldest child who was home from university. He has friends who are vegetarian and he will often eat vegetarian when he is with them. He thought that the kiev was tasty, rich and creamy with just enough garlic and cheese.
He said that he would buy them not only for himself but also for his friends too. He liked them so much I caught him putting a pack in his bag when he was going back to university!
Quick Lunchtime Idea
I sometimes need a quick meal for those times that we are in a rush or we have afternoon plans. I placed the kievs and some chips in the oven and served these with some spicy baked beans.
My husband loved this quick lunchtime meal and said he would eat them again. He thought they were nicer than chicken kievs!
Loving the BBQ
For our last meal idea, we wanted to be in the garden and use the bbq! I wrapped the kievs in lightly oiled foil and placed on the bbq for about 20 minutes, I kept checking the kievs to make sure they did not burn. Once they were ready I served them with jacket potatoes, homemade coleslaw and salad. So yummy that most people ignored the sausages and asked for more kievs!
We loved these kievs from Goodlife so much that we cannot wait to try some of their other products including their Gluten Free Falafels and the yummy sounding French Bean, Spinach and Cheese Sausages!
Pricing and Where to Purchase
Goodlife products can be bought from most major supermarkets and food retailers. We purchased ours for £2 per box from our local Iceland supermarket.
