Peakles loves this interactive Kao Kao Koala toy and is thrilled to share our review with you!
What Was In The Box
Kao Kao comes in its own plastic house or cage with batteries already installed, it has a plastic eucalyptus leaf and a milk bottle too. After, some trial and error, we discovered that in order to detach Kao Kao from the packing meant removing the cardboard label underneath the packaging. This revealed a small number of plastic bolts that you turned to release the bear. The bottle and eucalyptus leaf were tied on with plastic ties which needed scissors to remove them. Finally, the front needed removing from the rest of the packaging which needed an older child or adult to help to remove it. There was a full instruction leaflet included with the toy.
What We Thought of Kao Kao
Peakles really liked the packaging and insisted that this was Kao Kao’s house. She also liked the fact that the batteries were already installed and Kao Kao was in ‘try me’ mode which meant it was making noises and blinking as we removed it from the packaging.
Once we removed Kao Kao we turned it over and noted that it had an ‘on’, ‘off’ and ‘try me’ setting which I thought was ideal for evenings or if we took Kao Kao out with us. Peakles switched it on and began feeding it leaves and pretending to give it milk from the bottle. She cuddled it and began mothering it, telling me to be quiet when Kao Kao went to sleep!
It was a great success when she went to her grandparents for a sleepover, they really liked the fact that it had an off switch which meant no one got disturbed during the night!
Although the toy is aimed at the 18+ month market I would probably buy this for 3+ years as it is quite heavy and I do not know if it would withstand a toddler’s enthusiastic play or a tantrum. I would probably purchase it for a main birthday or Christmas present if Peakles had really wanted it, however, I do think that it is quite an expensive toy for just a casual purchase.
