Make Some Pots with Pottery Cool
Pottery cool is just that – making pottery cool! This is a great way to help kids learn how to create their own pots using a real potters wheel. We were delighted to have a chance to review this Pottery Cool studio from Spin Master Ltd and we cannot wait to share it with you!

Getting Started Making Some Pots
We started by unpacking our Pottery Cool studio and adding the batteries. Next, we chose the tube-shaped sleeve and then opened one of the clay disks. We placed this on top of the sleeve as per the instructions. Then, we switched the potter’s wheel on and sprayed the clay with water. After gently pushing the clay down, we began to shape the pot with our hands. Finaly, we stopped the potter’s wheel and carefully removed our clay pot. We put this to one side to dry for 24 hours.
Once our pot was dried we began painting it. Then, we chose to make a spotty design and loved the rich, metallic paint colours. We then left the pot to dry for another 24 hours before using it to keep trinkets in!
Thoughts and Observations
The Pottery Cool Studio is well thought out, robust and easy for kids to use, an ideal introduction to the world of pottery crafts. As it is using water and clay it is important to have this in mind when using it. We placed newspapers on the floor and had wet wipes and paper towels to hand, as the clay can get very messy when wet!
Pricing and Where to Purchase
The Pottery Cool studio currently retails for between £32 and £39, depending on where it is purchased. You can purchase it from most leading high street stores and online stores too.
