Dresses mean Spring is here! There is nothing better than shaking off the Winter blues and embracing the new season with a new wardrobe! However, with younger members of the family, there are other things to consider as well. Style, price, wearability, suitability for the weather/season are just a few things that many parents have to take into account when buying new clothes for their children. So we decided to create a list of ideas using the online shop from House of Fraser to come up with the perfect Spring wardrobe.
The Party Dress
Part of the Spring season includes being invited to more and more birthday parties as this is when most children are born! Ideally, you will need a party dress that will be comfortable and stylish but will also last for the Spring party season too!
Things to Consider: short or long sleeves sequins, sparkles, ribbons and buttons material
If you decide to go with a plainer dress remember you can always mix and match headbands, hair clips, jewellery and cardigans to give your party dress a different look each time you go out.
The Social Dress
This is the dress that you would want your daughter to wear if you are going to family BBQ, event or to visit a favourite Aunt. Most times these dresses would be slightly more conservative than a party dress and you would expect them to be durable as well as stylish
Things to Consider: to be worn outdoors or indoors comfortable durable materials
Team a dress up with a cardigan or coat. Add some warm tights and a pair of boots or shoes for a cosy look and try adding a matching headband or hat too.
The Play Dress
This is the dress for playing in, either in the home, in the garden or at the park. Usually lightweight, durable and washable, it can withstand an onslaught of mud, sand and general playtime grubbiness! It also helps to not have too many buttons or accessories as these just tend to get in the way or get ripped from the dress during playing.
Things to Consider: durability and washability comfort and easy to wear little or no frills
Add lightweight jumpers or t-shirts under or over the dress, depending on the weather and play conditions. Tie long hair back with a matching bobble or use an Alice band to stop hair getting in the way of some serious play!
The Beach or Pool Dress
Sometimes we all like to get out to our local beach or swimming pool. Ideally, a dress that can be easily slipped on and off with no buttons or zips is ideal for this. Also, a dress that can withstand the punishment of being scrunched up in the bottom of a changing bag or buried under lots of sand is ideal too! Normally bright patterns or colours are great for these type of dresses and can help you to spot your child on a crowded beach too.
Things to consider: lightweight and durable material that does not crease cotton or similar that will dry quickly
Add a great pair of sandals or flip flops and grab that bucket and spade for some great beach or poolside fun!
So there we have four main dresses for the spring and summer season. We loved the range of dresses from House of Fraser. They are affordable, well made and good quality dresses.
