We Love These Great Things
for a Fun Summer
We have been having a great summer holiday so far, even though we have not been away! Peakles has really enjoyed playing outside and we thought we would share some of the things that have kept her occupied!
We started off the beginning of the holiday season with a very small circular paddling pool. This is ideal for just keeping cool and splashing about. However everyone was wanting to have a go so we bought a larger ‘family’ sized one. We keep this in a shady part of the garden which is ideal for Peakles and the Teen to play in without getting too hot in the sunshine. I made a cover to go over the top to keep the bugs and leaves out!
Peakles loves going on the swings at the local park so we wanted one for the garden too. I found an ideal one called Sports Power Single Swing through Sports Power Single Swing which was ideally priced and offered delivery too. It was so easy to put up and within half an hour Peakles was happily playing on it!
We bought some mini kites which are ideal for the garden. We have no overhead electrical wires so it is safe for us to a fly a kite from our garden. They are so colourful and when the wind catches them they can go quite high!
This is another essential item in our garden. We like this one because it has a lid and we can just put all the buckets and spades inside the sandpit when we have finished playing. Play sand is relatively cheap and we often have days at the beach in our garden too!
A Beach or Play Ball
Peakles loves kicking or throwing a ball about and we have played lots of games involving throwing throw a hula hoop, bouncing high and low as well as just running about! We do not use a soccer or basket ball in the garden as we have a glass conservatory. However a lighter play or beach ball seems to bounce off the windows with little damage, if accidentally kicked too hard.
We have enjoyed thinking and writing about our Great Things for a Fun Summer. What sort of things make your summer extra special?
