Great Fun Pirate Things
To Share With The Kids
Ever wondered why everyone starts talking in a Pirate voice on the 19th September? Wonder why your newsfeed is full of grinning pirates? Well, it is because many of us are celebrating International Talk Like A Pirate Day!
We were given a Pirates Soldiers Fort for this review. Please refer to our disclosure policy for further information.
Peakles loves everything to do with pirates, treasure maps and sailing off on the high seas looking for adventure and gold dubloons! We started early today and so far we have had a whale of a time! We have spoken in increasingly silly pirates voices, have played at treasure maps and we have eaten hard tack (biscuits) and drank grog (orange juice!) plus we have had a great time playing as well!
Playing at Pirates!
Peakles recently got a Pirate’s Soldier’s Fort Lego Set from House of Fraser and we decided to save it for today rather than put it away for Christmas! The Teen was suddenly available to help Peakles make up the Pirate fort and they had a great time playing with the bricks and the little pirates! They had so much fun making up little adventures for the pirates and were chatting about all the treasure they could gather! The Teen even mentioned that Pirate Ship set looked like an ideal Christmas present for Peakles…. I wonder who will help her play with it?
Watching and Reading about Swashbuckling Pirates!
We decided to watch some pirate cartoons and after a Pirate Pizza Lunch with Orange Grog, I decided that it was time for Peakles to sit quietly for a little longer with a pirate magazine! She loved this and was soon sticking the stickers in the right places and solving the puzzles too!
All in all, we have had a perfect Talk Like a Pirate Day all finished off with a pirate film and some candy treasure! In fact, Peakles wants to have more pirate days which means we can have a look at some of the different ideas shared on Pirates! Blog hop recently!
