We now know why Chinese New Year is celebrated with firecrackers, drums and the colour red.

We also know some of the customs that ensure good fortune for the year.  Plus why there are 12 animals connected with the New Year including a Snake!

And we know that there are not only Dragon Dances, but Lion and Unicorn Dances too!

We will be going to the Newcastle Upon Tyne  Chinese New Year Celebrations on Sunday 10th February.

Why not look up your local town or city and see if there are some celebrations happening near you too!
