How to Make a Fun Paper Plate Ewok

Paper Plate Ewok

Ewoks!  Love them or hate them, Ewoks played an important part in the Star Wars saga!   These simple to make paper plate decorations are an ideal way to celebrate Star Wars Day this year!  Star Wars Day is celebrated on May the 4th (May the Force) every year.  This year we will be watching some great DVD’s, making some treats and doing some galaxy inspired activities as well!paper-ewoks-peakle-pie

Materials and Equipment You Will Need

  • scissors
  • paper plate
  • brown pencil
  • googly eyes or round labels
  • black marker pen
  • brown paper
  • PVA glue
  • black or brown buttons

How to Make a Paper Ewok

First, take the brown paper and cut out the eyes and a mouth shape, this will be the Ewok hood.  Next, glue the hood onto the paper plate and colour in the rest of the plate with the brown pencil.

Then, take the googly eyes and glue onto the plate, if you do not have googly eyes then use the white labels and add pupils with the marker pen.  Take some of the brown paper and cut out two ear shapes and glue these onto the top of the plate.  Glue a dark button onto the face as a nose before drawing a smile with some teeth onto the white paper.  Cut this out and glue onto your paper plate Ewok!

We enjoyed making different Ewoks and began to add eye patches and ear hoops as well to help create different characters from the film!
