Festive Ice Cream!
Are you looking for a festive dessert to finish off your Christmas meal? Want an alternative to the traditional Christmas pudding?
Well, we have an easy to make festive ice cream that is delicious on its own or to accompany a mince pie or two!
To be honest, we have a difference of opinion over what our Christmas dessert should be. Two family members love a traditional Christmas pudding and two of us prefer something a little lighter!
We have tried different ice creams but have never found one that seemed to have that extra special ‘Christmassy’ taste! After a little thought and some experimentation, we have a great ice cream that ticks all those festive boxes!
Simple and Quick Recipe

Make or buy some simple vanilla ice cream and add a teaspoon of cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg.
Next add some candied peel and mix into the ice cream. Gently stir into the ice cream and then pop back into the freezer until you need it.
For added decadence this Christmas add some crushed dark chocolate.
Then, take a jar of apple sauce and add stir in a quarter teaspoon of some ginger and cinnamon.
Add a spoonful of the apple sauce to the ice cream when you serve.
The citrus taste of the candied peel cuts through the richness and adds texture to the dessert as well!
We love this and we plan on having this on Christmas Day!
