How to Make These Awesome Unicorn Headbands

Awesome Unicorn Headbands

How about making some unicorn headbands?  We love the idea of a unicorn, a mythical horse with a single horn and recently there has been a revival of interest in these fascinating creatures.  As part of the 31 Days of ABC hosted by All Done Monkey, we decided to join in with U is for Unicorn and make some simple but sparkly headbands!

Materials and Equipment Needed

PVA Glue   scissors   egg box   paints   paper/card   paperclip   glitter/sequins

How To Make Unicorn Headbands

First, take a strip of paper or card and wrap around your child’s head to make sure the headband is the correct length.  Place a paper clip on the band to mark the place.  Next, cut out the pointed part of the egg box and decorate with paint.  Take add some glue and cover with glitter to make it sparkly.

If you do not have an egg box then take a piece of paper, decorate and then make a cone shape, using sticky tape or a paper clip.

Then, decorate the headband with sequins or glitter in lots of U’s before glueing the cone onto the front.   Leave the headbands to dry.  Finally, secure the headband around the head with either the paperclip or with sticky tape.

We loved making these so much and hope you enjoy making them too!

As you can see our unicorn headbands are great fun to make and they make ideal party hats too!  Why not have a unicorn party for your little ones with some party headbands!

We are thrilled that this is part of the 31 Days of ABC.  Find out more below…
