Learning Something New Every Day

Learning Something New Every Day – My Life Mission!

I’ve decided that I want to learn something new every day.

Every single day, from now until I hang up my boots and push up daisies instead, I will be learning instead of just existing.

And I feel quite excited by the changes that I have already started to carry out in my work life as well as my personal life.

For a little while I have felt overwhelmed and underwhelmed as well.  Overwhelmed by the fast pace of technology, new social media ‘things’ and my seeming lack of knowledge.  Underwhelmed by it too, not knowing where to start or why.  Yet something has changed, my mindset or the change of the season, but I now feel more focused.  I had taken some time out over the summer to reassess and I have direction.

I finally have a plan.

It’s not a grand plan.

It’s not necessarily a great plan.  Plus I am aware that this is not a final plan either.

BUT it is a workable plan.  I realise that I DO know many different things.  That I have certain transferable skills.  This time I believe that it is possible to achieve great things, to leave my mark AND this time it feels different!

I feel that the muddied waters are clearing and like a water phoenix I am shaking off the rain and heading for the clouds.

So part of the plan is to use the ‘Bits n Bobs Blog’ to explore where I am going and why.  Hopefully  it will help you get to know me a little better too as you join me on this journey!

Great post and completely understand where you are coming from. I don’t know what has finally clicked with me but I’m on a serious mission! There must be something in the air. Looking forward to reading your posts.

Hi Helen, love your challenge. Learning something new every day is powerful, and I possibly don’t acknowledge learning enough. How will you measure it?

Thank you Sarah. I feel quite excited/motivated at the moment. I think I will measure it in different ways, not just through my increasing knowledge base but also by the way I will be feeling too.

  3. Awesome! I’ve gone through a bit of a mindset change as well – I’m not sure where it came from, but I want to stop wasting time – especially on the weekends where we do a lot of nothing. Good luck with your mission, can’t wait to read all about it x
